Hello and welcome to my guide. My name is Twday and I am an EUNE Gragas player with 100K+ points who started maining this fat behemoth not too long ago. I always liked taking guided from mobafire to help my gameplay on champions I have not so much experience in, so i thought why not do the same with one of the champions I know the most about.

I would like to let you know that I am not really the most competitive player

I am not a pro challenger korean 1000 LP player so don't expect ALL of these builds to be perfectly optimal. I am just a mere Gold Gragas enjoyer who wants to teach the basics to anyone else in the best way that I can.

Pros

• Very versatile gameplay! Can be played in almost every lane
• Fun variety of builds to choose from!
• Synergizes well with a lot of champions
• Pretty good teamfights if used well
• AOE on EVERY ability
• Low playrate which leads to low banrate
• Wide variety of fun combos

Cons

• Pretty predictable abilities and combos
• Unplayable against certain team comps
• Ult can help them get away if they dash into the opposite direction
• Easy to play, hard to master
• His w completely silences him
• Bad early game

TOPLANE

Opponent example: Renekton

At level 1 I take w and doran's ring as I do not have any intent to kill him lvl 1, nor do i have the possibility. I farm until level 2 and if I see him trying to jump me I quickly w before I hit an e that I know I'm going to hit guaranteed so I know I'm going to hit my W afterwards. As soon as I see the w animation land I know I can back off, and I try to repeat the process. I get to level 3, where things can go many ways. When he is low, I charge my w and flash behind his wave just enough so I don't get stuck with my e that I want to land on him, followed by a combo of E + Q + W and keep AA for extra damage so I can secure the kill. Note that you shouldn't be doing this against every champion. At level 6 it depends on how the Renekton is playing now. If he's playing passively then wait for his jg to gank him and be careful or if not just go for another all in until he uses his ult, then you back out and wait for it to finish before killing him. If he does get ganked, pray that it's a squishy enemy so you can throw him under tower with ult and get an easy kill. From then on you want to try helping your team as top Gragas provides more utility than actual damage as he can absorb a lot of damage and sustain it with his Passive.


JUNGLE
I do not have much to recommend for the jungle. Simply put, I take Mosstomper as a tank and Gustwalker as AP. I start at the blue buff > gromp > wolves > raptors > red buff > krugs > gank. If there are any emergencies, you should gank earlier. And also tell your teammates to have more faith in 2v2s as Gragas does extremely well if played correctly in early teamfights in my opinion.

MIDLANE


Opponent Example: Yone

Here is my special playstyle for Gragas Mid. Seeing that I have a melee champion on mid and I know I will be able to proc first strike so I take it. I start w and until level 6 I have a strategy where I try to focus on farming and all in combos that way I can maximize the gold I get. I very rarely kill someone pre level 6. On my (hopefully) first recall, I purchase at the very least a tear of goddess (which is not necessary but I find it nice to have) and some of the components of the lost chapter. After level 6 I try to bait most of his abilities so I can get an easy kill off a combo on him. And the moment I get my second ult and my Yone recalls I try to get a good roam in as Gragas Mid can benefit a lot from roaming.

This was really fun to make and I really plan on updating it more as I feel like I am not even close to being satisfied with the result, but still so far I'm happy with how It is going.
