Abilities

Passive - Pyromania
After casting 4 spells, Annie's next offensive spell will stun its target. The duration changes every 5 levels.

Q - Disintegrate
Annie hurls a fireball, dealing magic damage. If the target dies, Annie refunds the mana cost and reduces the cooldown by 50%.

W - Incinerate
Annie projects a wave of fire, dealing magic damage.

E - Molten Shield
Annie grants herself or an ally a shield for 3 seconds and 20-50% movement speed decaying over 1.5 seconds. While the shield holds, enemies who attack it take magic damage.

R - Summon: Tibbers
Annie summons her bear Tibbers, dealing magic damage. For the next 45 seconds, Tibbers burns nearby enemies every 0.25 seconds and his attacks deal magic damage.

Annie can recast this ability to direct Tibbers. If Annie dies, Tibbers becomes enraged, gaining 275% attack speed and 100% movement speed decaying over 3 seconds.
Ability Sequence

The most common levelling sequence for Annie is the one I am using in this guide which follow Q>W>E>R.

Flash
You need flash. Thats all :) No discussion

Teleport
Teleport is my standard Summoner at the moment. It helps you get back to your lane after your first back, which is helpful since youre often being pushed in early. Afterwards you can use it to help your team when they get ganked. I really like it because I love to split on the sidelane to build a CS and XP lead and with Teleport I can join fights whenever I want.

Ignite
Exhaust is a good defensive summoner spell. Its good against assasins which want to oneshot you. Use it if they want to jump on you and burst you. This way you wont die and its way more likely for you to kill them.

Barrier
Barrier is also a good defensive summoner spell vs assasins. Take it vs champs like Zed, Qiyana or Talon. It helps you survive their burst combo.

Cleanse
Cleanse is a good defensive summoner spell vs heavy CC. I dont really like going it, but it can be useful in lane vs champs like Zoe.
Keystone Rune
Electrocute is my go to keystone. It provides free burst to your combo. In midgame or lategame you can be defined as assasin - with electrocute your oneshot will only get stronger.

Summon Aery is my second go to Keystone. Since you have a high attack range you can perma hit enemys with autoattacks and your Q in lane it will proc really often, making your lane easier. Its especially good against meelee matchups.

Predator is your choice if youre into roaming alot. Rush boots fast, push in your wave and roam bot/top or in the enemy jungle. Other people normally dont rush boots, which makes you able to easily chase them down for free kills. This only works if the enemy midlaner cant push as easy tho.
Starting Items
To start of the item section, let's dive into the starting items. You always start with Doran's Ring and Health Potion. After that your next major buy next to boots is:

Hextech Alternator
Hextech Alternator is your first item if you choose to go for Hextech Rocketbelt. It provides you bonus burst in lane. The only downturn is that the full item doesnt provide mana, so you have to play a bit more careful with your mana pool. If youre fine with that I recommend going for it.

Lost Chapter
Lost Chapter is your first item if you choose to go for Luden’s Companion. It provides you mana compared to the other item, so its a better choice if you go out of mana often.
General Items

Season 14 brought a huge mage item overhaul. The old mythic items got removed and new items got added. Theres several new ones which can be useful, such as: Luden’s Companion, Stormsurge or Cryptbloom. Some old items also got slightly changed. In this chapter I will talk about some important items.

There are some items which didnt change and which are still insane on Annie. These are Void Staff, Rabadon's Deathcap and Shadowflame. The only new thing is that Shadowflame now makes your spells crit if the enemy target is below 35%. Your "crit" deals 20% bonus damage. I highly recommend building these items in most games after your core items. These core items are (order matters):

Hextech Rocketbelt
Hextech Rocketbelt is a super useful item on Annie. It provides AP, Health and Ability Haste. The insane part is the active tho. You dash forward and deal damage in a cone ahead of you. You can use it before casting your R to dash forward and catch enemys offguard. This can be super useful. Only downside on the item is that it doesnt provide mana.

Luden’s Companion Luden’s Companion
Luden’s Companion is a new burst item which replaced the old Ludens. It has super good stats. It provides Mana compared to Rocketbelt, which helps if you go out of mana often. You can build Rocketbelt after building it if you want tho.

Stormsurge
Stormsurge is new mage item. It provides AP, Magic Pen and Movement Speed. The passive is also super good. If you deal 35% of a champs health within 3secs you get a movement speed buff and after 2sec you deal bonus damage on the enemy. Against squishy champs that shouldnt be a problem with your full combo. Against tankier enemys it wont work, which is why you shouldnt build it against them. Otherwise it is a super good item and can be built. I recommend building it after Luden’s Companion.

Zhonya's Hourglass
Zhonya's Hourglass is really useful in games with assasins or hard CC. If the enemy team has alot of engage / lockdown I recommend building it 100%. This way it gets way harder to kill you. Its also really useful against assasins like Zed. You can also build it if you engage alot with your R into the enemy team. Just press it after using your ult and the enemy team cant hit you.

After you finish boots, Hextech Rocketbelt and maybe Stormsurge I recommend building the items I mentioned earlier in this chapter ( Shadowflame, Rabadon's Deathcap and Void Staff). I also recommend this order. Other good item choices are:

Liandry's Torment
Liandry's Torment is another super good item. It provides AP and Health, which is good. It's passive provides you a %Health damage DoT + a 2-6% damage increase. Its super easy for you to stack and use, since your spells have low CD. Its useful in almost every game, especially in games vs tanks tho.

Horizon Focus
Horizon Focus is a super good poke mage item. It provides AP and Ability Haste. The bonus effect activates when you hit enemys from far away. It will reveal them + surrounding enemys. The target you hit will also get 10% increased damage from you for 6 seconds.

Cosmic Drive
Cosmic Drive is a good item. It provides AP, Health, Ability Haste and Movement Speed. If you damage an enemy you get bonus movement speed, which can be super useful in teamfights. I recommend going it if the enemy team has a lot of CC and you need to dodge alot of spells.

Banshee's Veil
Banshee's Veil is a good item. It provides AP and MR. The bonus effect is a spell shield. Its super good against a few champs which want to open their burst combo with one spell. Examples are Annie (you would block her stun spell), Evelynn (you block her charm engage) or Karthus (you could block his ult).
Matchups

Annie is a good lane bully. She has a lot of range and good oneshot potential starting from level 6. She also has good waveclear, making her able to roam easily. In my opinion her biggest weakness are other lane bully champs or poke champs, be careful when facing them.

Combos
Basic Poke Combo

Disintegrate > Incinerate > Autoattack > Electrocute

As basic as it gets. Make sure your passive stun Pyromania is up before doing the combo (enemy cant deal damage when he is stunned, makes you win trades everytime).
Begin by casting your Q into W into an Autoattack, which triggers Electrocute

Combo lvl 3+

Disintegrate > Molten Shield > Incinerate > Autoattack >
Electrocute

YOU NEED 3 PASSIVE STACKS BEFORE DOING THIS COMBO.
Throw your Q at the enemy, which makes your passive go up to 4.
When your Q is MID-AIR you want to activate E, which makes the Q that is in air stun.
Follow up with W and an Autoattack to proc Electrocute.

All In

Disintegrate > Summon: Tibbers > Incinerate > Electrocute

Make sure to either have Stun ready or 3 stacks on your passive and have it stun by using your E before the combo.
Either start the combo by ulting or throwing Q - Q is the safer way though since its not a skillshot.
After stunning the enemy just use every ability on him.

Flash Tibbers

Flash > Summon: Tibbers > Incinerate

This is your biggest playmaking tool. You want to use it to start teamfights or catch enemy players out of position.
Make sure your passive stun is ready and try to hit as many targets as possible!
Wards

Level 1

Ward the enemy raptor camp at 1:20. This way you can track the enemy jungler early and avoid ganks.

In Lane

Ward at the Enemy's river entrance. This way you can see a part of the enemy jungle and a part of the river.

Control Wards

You want to either ward the brush in the river or next to your lane. This way your team can gank you easier.
General Playstyle
IN LANE

Try to be somewhat aggresive in lane. Use your Q Disintegrate to lasthit minions and stack your passive. Since your Mana gets refunded if you lasthit the minion with Q and its on low cooldown its the best and easiest way to farm for you.
Also use your Q Disintegrate to harrass the enemy laner when your stun is ready.
If he is low enough you can go for your Stun Combo and finish him off.
If your jungler ganks you either wait for him to cc the enemy laner and follow up with your stun - or if he has no cc you have to engage with your stun.

Try to pressure the enemy laner and work with your jungler to get picks on the enemy mid or jungler. Try to either roam or freeze the wave so you get a lead on the enemy laner.

MID GAME

After laning phase you can go to the sidelane and continue farming while your botlane/jgl stays midlane. If you have Teleport you can always join your team for teamfights - if you dont have it always be rdy to join them!
Annie is super good in the sidelane since she is super good in 1v1. Continue gaining experience and farm there to get even stronger.

In teamfights you want to try to catch as many people as possible with your Flash Summon: Tibbers Stun Combo. Your main targets are usually the enemy Midlaner and AD-Carry.
If you dont have Flash up just try to fight front to back with your team and look for openings for your R.

LATE GAME

In late game you can be the gamechanger. Try to hide in fog of war and catch people with your stun combos. Stuns can lead to free kills which can win games.
Try to assasinate the enemy carries and focus on oneshotting them in late game teamfights. If you have Zhonyas and Flash you can look for super aggresive Flashes into oneshotting the enemy carrys and then using zhonyas - your team should be able to peel for you afterwards, but always be careful when doing that.
Conclusion
Play aggresive early game!

Use your early game lead to snowball!

Try to oneshot people with your insane aoe burst!

Be a backbone and major carry in teamfights!
