Good to see new players join! What I would recommend is first check out YouTube.
There is lot's of information there from basic guidance through abiltities (Champion spotlights) to advanced tips and tricks (Shodesu & Raizins).
The rest to learn your champion is up to you! Hop into a bot game first to get the hang of your champ and then take him into a draft game. League is all about exploring and finding your own way/identity. Have fun on your journey because that's most important!
Ohhh and what do u think abt the new boots that have enhanced recall?
Thank you for your replies to my messages really appreciate them! :D
So it's still warly into the patch to say something is really good or really bad. I don't feel like dawncore will change the Rakan build but who knows (Looks like a strong second item for Nami).
Then the new boots. So faster recalls gives you good tempo on the map. If you roam a lot that's a good thing. Personally I think mercs or steelcaps are in a way better spot since they got cheaper. Maybe I'll change my mind if I played with the new boots!
Dawncore had a big buff so maybe the support meta is shifting more into enchanters which is kinda annoying in my opinion :/
And hey as always thanks for replying to my questions man! Have a nice day
As always thanks for answering to my questions bro
cya and have a nice day bro :D
So my honest opinion on AP Rakan is that it's too expensive to get going. It's fun and all if you play him mid where you can farm consistently, but on support you get too low of an income in my opinion. But I also have to say, you should play the game for fun and if you think AP Rakan is fun, who am I to tell you not to?
Oh and I forgot to mention that almost all of his kit scales with AP so I want to know if right now its worth giving rakan enchante a shot. Thanks c:
So personally I don't think Rakan is the most reliable enchanter.
Your heal is a skill shot which makes playing him enchanter less rewarding.
I wouldn't advice it.
Thanks for the reply dude!
I just updated the guide last night again as I found something working better than I thought at first hand. I'll keep testing today and update the guide the coming weeks! Also need to revision the roaming and the vision parts as the map has changed.
In my opinion that is Radiant Virtue. That seems to work best in most situations. Becareful though as the itrm changes in season 14 will remove Radiant Virtue so try to enjoy it in the upcoming days!
I am new to Rakan and I have been wondering about something... Can you actually mix AP with Utility? This is a problem I get with lots of supports, I am not a big fan of support items... It feels like I miss some damage if I go full Utility.
For example I've been thinking about taking Night Harvester (nice combination between AP, health and Ability Haste) or Rod Of Ages (the combination of stacks between health, mana and AP) as Mythic.
I feel like going a mix of tanky/AP/utility when playing Rakan.
What about Rylai's Crystal Scepter? It gives a lot of health, decent damage and it slows. Beside that, it doesn't cost that much like the other AP items.
Imperial Mandate has the nice mana regeneration stat and it marks the enemy which means more damage dealt by you and your ally.
All of that mixing with support items (like Chemtech Putrifier) because they don't cost that much as AP items.
How do you feel about that? Do you think is it possible to make Rakan a hybrid or would you say it is useless?
Thanks for your question!
So a hybrid build for Rakan is something that has been a thing as long as this champ existed. In my opinion Rakan isn't designed to deal damage but to hop in and out of fights to either start a fight or peel your carries to full extent. By building hybrid, in this case building more damage, you shift your focus to one of those 2 aspects, which automatically lowers your focus in the other aspect, in this case your peeling potential.
The second problem with building hybrid is that items are way to expensive for a support income. Most mythics are way to expensive for the value they provide, where only Radiant Virtue and maybe Everfrost are worth their value outside of the support mythics. As a support you want to be as efficient as possible with the small amount of gold you earn, so you have to be smart about the choices you make. I'm happy to finish my boots, a mythic and a second item when a game lasts 25-30 mins.
Looking at the items you suggest I'll give a short opinion on them.
- Night Harvester/Rod of Ages: too expensive for the value they give.
- Rylai's Crystal Scepter: The slowing effect has almost no benefits for your kit as the damaging abilities you have either knockup (W) or charm (R) which already provide CC. Only your Q would benefit from the slow application and you just don't use it to chase someone down.
- Imperial mandate: Is a decent option but you have to be mindful about the fact you won't be as tanky as building a zeke's for example.
I hope this answers your questions! Feel free to ask me anything if stuff is unclear :)
Thank you so much for the detailed and friendly answer! I was thinking the same about the costs... Way too expensive, sadly. Thanks again :)
