Is Garen jungle viable?

I actually tried it a few times and it didn't seemed such a bad idea to me. Yeah, the ganks are not as good, but is not an insta lane winner like . Garen is an ultimate tank but he is prone to losing his lane. By going Garen jungle you sacrifice a deal of ganking potential but enables your team to win top, which can be difficult with Garen. During ganks, you launch your classic QWER combo for good damage while going tanky. Link to my experimental jungle Garen below.

He's just better when played in top lane as he often acts like a lane bully due to his great amount of basic damage. In top lane he can purchase needed items faster as the gold income is higher in lane. 's jungle camp clear is probably not the best combined with his lack of CC and gap-closer. I wouldn't pick him in the jungle as so many tank junglers are superior to him.

It's not about how jungle is good, it's about how he compares against other jungler.

I have played quite a lot now. Last game I had 26/4/0 and solocarried the game, even soloing Nashor endgame. My brother's account, though.

I did some games with it for the lolz... not like being a brainwizard with him by any means but what I remember is that he has decent clearing speed.
He also punishes champions with no movement whatsoever like crazy if you get to the chilling smite... but that's pretty much the only thing he's good at in a gank. Champions with gapclosers are still way more convenient, and I'm pretty sure there are a ton of other junglers out there as well that can also punish the lack of mobility on the enemy team but better.

Sure why not garens tanky regens health on passive his e is clear and he moves faster with q oh did i mention he gets tanky with w? get a tanky setup i would suggest maybe 9/21/0 in masteries or even 0/30/0 or why not go crazy and do a unorthodox mastery setup , but i would suggest getting a decent amount in defense masteries :)

Until level 11, his passive gets disabled by monster. Therefore, no, it would chunk him big time to get the double camp 1st clear without B.

0 CC, no gapclose, no scaling = not a good idea even if he has a decent clear

I personally wouldn't take it serious, but I gotta admit I have done it. I used Chilling Smite and Exhaust for better ganks, but it's still escapable.

I meant hard-cc. He already has a hard time gapclosing, and even after he gapcloses he has a tough time sticking on against enemies with peel. You can play him for fun (I play him jungle to troll around every once in a while), but considering his viability seriously is questionable.

The idea is a little... contradicting. Garen, by himself, is so susceptible to kiting that the idea of him Q-ing a with ult's up making flying pig sounds plausible. +rep for trying.
