Introduction

Welcome
Hey there guys my name is angata500 more widely known as Axxell Blaze and this is my diamond guide to Jhin, the Virtuoso who is my favourite marksman as he is super viable in pretty much any situation and on top of that insanely fun . A little bit about me - I've been playing league for 6 years so far and have mained adc since season 5 so I finally decided to put all my knowleadge to the making of this amazing guide the sole purpose of which is to help everyone who wants to improve and climb.I worked very hard for this guide so i would really appreaciate it if you could take your time to rate it.If you'd like to see more of my content:

Pros/Cons

Pros

+ Insane Range and Damage
+ Good Pusher/Objective Taker
+ Amazing Scaling
+ Strong Laning
+ Good for Climbing
+ Insane kiting
Cons

- Squishy
- High difficulty
- No Mobility
- No Escapes
- A lot of skillshots
- Useless while reloading

So to sum up a bit Jhin is super fun to play and can you easily carry the game with him(until you hit plat at least) . However he is pretty hard to play and requires a lot of practise - like you need to be good at kiting hiting your skillshots and mostly your ult to be a good Jhin player . Also take into consideration the fact that you have no mobility and adjust your positioning.

Dark Harvest
Hail of Blades

The only viable options here are Hail of Blades and Dark Harvest. However in the current meta Dark Harvest is just insanely op as it gives you additional ad when you attack or kill someone low on health . That is legit amazing for you as it constantly adds up and in the late game you will be able to one shot people that are have about 40% hp or below. So yeah it is kind of busted but definately the best option rn.I do want to mention that Hail of Blades is still a viable option as it doesnt require stacking which means that you will be a lot stronger early game and will potentially get fed so dont completely write it off and keep that in mind if you want to play really aggressive in your early game.
Cheap Shot

Taste Of Blood
Sudden Impact
Well this one is pretty mainstream. Taste of Blood scales with ad(perfect for jhin) and gives you lifesteal which means more survaivabily so what more could you ask for on an immobile adc with tons of ad?
Zombie Ward
Ghost Poro

Eyeball Collection
Definately go for Eyeball Collection the other two are good only for junglers or roamers and still not even decent after the nerfs . On the other hand Eyeball Collection is pretty good - will give you an extra AD permanently on takedowns and even increases with ward kills which makes it a solid choice.

Ravenous Hunter
Ingenious Hunter
Relentless Hunter
Ultimate Hunter
Ravenous Hunter is legit the number one option as i have already mention you would want more survaivability on an immobile adc and if you decide to go for it you can even switch your Bloodthirster for a Guardian Angel or Lord Dominik's Regards.I really don't see much of an use for Ravenous Hunter and since we dont build any lethality going for Ultimate Hunter is a meh - just not as worth as going for Ravenous Hunter.

Sorcery
Absolute Focus
Gathering Storm
Celerity gives you a decent movement speed and scales prety well with any movement speed items. Gathering Storm starts off pretty weak but as the game goes on on will definately turn you into a beast with all that extra ad.Honestly I just go Celerity and Gathering Storm 100% of the time. They are just the best option you have so just yeah just go with them :P

PASSIVE
ABILITY
Whisper (Passive):
Jhin 's gun chambers four shots, the last of which always crits and applies extra damage based on a portion of his target’s missing health. After firing all four shots, Jhin takes a moment to reload.

Jhin’s crits deal less damage than normal, and his attack speed doesn’t actually scale with attack speed. Instead, Jhin gains attack damage from any attack speed and crit chance he earns through itemization and runes, while crits give him a burst of movement based on his attack speed.

So simply said that means that you hit slow but hard, have only 4 shots but deal tons of damage. However exactly how much ad you get from this passive throughtout the game is kind of hard to say but i will leave the algorithm here.

So first we have this formula which shows how our passive scales with items it goes like this :
4% per 10% Crit chance
2.5% per 10% BONUS attack speed

However it also scales with levels
If i have to be completely honest this formula doesnt really help you improve lol and it wont make an Jhin god or anything it is just for pure information to the curious .I just want to elebarate on the fact that this passive is what makes Jhin so good late game , I mean all that scaling is just insane and makes him viable throught the whole game. The reload time however is a big disadvantage as your damage is not as consistent as other adc's.

Q
Dancing Grenade (Q):
Jhin throws a cannister at a nearby targeted enemy. After landing, the cannister bounces up to four times on other nearby enemies. Killing an enemy with Dancing Grenade causes the following bounces to deal extra damage. So yeah basically your main ability , definately max it out first . It is perfect for poking and trading .
Just really try to shoot it onto the minions when they are low on health and the enemies are near them just so it can bounce on them after killing the minions dealing an absolute ton of damage (up to 135% more damage)

W
Deadly Flourish (W):
Passive: Enemy champions that have been struck by Jhin’s basic attacks, Captive Audience, or any allied damage are marked for a few seconds.

Active: Jhin fires a massively long range shot that damages all enemy minions and the first enemy champion in a target direction. If the enemy champion he strikes has already been marked, they’re briefly rooted, while Jhin himself gains a burst of movement speed.

Usage: So in my opinion the best usage of Deadly Flourish is for catching people off before the team fight even begins or doing skirmishesh. You know when you see that you can root one of the enemy carries just go for it and in most cases your team will instantly take them out which is super good for you as you can get a free objective while the enemy team cant contest as they would have to go into a 4v5 fight. You can also use it right before your for bonus damage and pretty much 100% success rate on the first shot of your ultimate . Lastly use it in trades in between your autos and an extra tip - combine it with your Captive Audience - you can easily root someone after he has been slowed by your flower and if it gets to blow up on them thats legit a ton of damage.
E
Captive Audience (E):
Explanation:Jhin places a trap on the ground that turns invisible after arming. Enemy champions that walk over the trap trigger it, revealing and marking them with Deadly Flourish and creating a large slowing zone. After a brief pause, the trap detonates, damaging all enemies inside its explosion.

Usage: I would highly recommend using it defensively. Always put your traps in the bushesh around the bot lane - the river bush and the lane bush as that is absolutely essential . In teamfights i would mostly put the trap right below me as someone will 100% jump onto me and the 35% slow from Captive Audience is an absolute lifesaver in 90% of the cases . Just follow up with an auto attack and a Deadly Flourish and you are basically safe and sound and will most likely kite out and kill them.
R
Curtain Call (R):
Explanation:Jhin fully assembles his weapon before taking aim in a target direction, revealing all marked targets in a huge area. He can then fire four rounds that stop at the first enemy champion struck, slowing them and dealing damage based on their missing health. Jhin’s fourth and final shot with Curtain Call deals massively increased damage and is guaranteed to crit.

Usage: The main usage would probably be finishing people off you know when they are low on health and stuff . However there is another use and it is for opening the teamfight like a way to engage and it is especially useful when you dont want to go in the team fight at the very beggining because there is some fed assasin for example who is gonna destroy you . So yeah then it is good to stay away and try to help your team with your ult while they take care of the thread . Aside from that keep in mind that your autos will always do more damage than your ult so dont ***** out in back of the fight doing nothing but ulting xD. Try to figure out when it is safe to rush in the fight and when not to do so - it really depends on team comps and how fed their assasins/bruisers are.

Farming

Farming is one of the most important aspects of the game because about half of your gold will come from it. And I dont think that we can talk about being a good adc if you are not able to cs properly simply because you need items to be effective . Now if you have watched an lcs game or a few chances are you have probably seen the insane creep score that pro players have such as 320 cs at 30 mins . I am just mentioning this because i want to point out that they dont achieve this by not missing a single minion but by rather controlling the waves properly. So there are three ways of controlling the wave - Slow Push , Fast Push And Freeze. Here is a video from Phy Lol (big thanks to him for making all these awesome guides) that i believe will be very helpful for all of you.P.S It is a bit old but still very good .
So now i will sum it all up and explain the slow push and its benefits.
Wave Control
Slow Push
How to:To achieve a slow push you just have to kill the three caster minions in a wave and leave it like that. Eventually a huge wave will slowly be built up. I would recommend that u start a slow push from your side of the lane otherwise it wont be as effective.
Usage: So the best usage for this type of wave control is during the mid-late game. For example lets say that you slow push a wave on the top lane . Someone from the enemy team has to go and clean it up. By the time he moves top to do so his team is short on one person which leaves your team with the opportunity to take an objective on the bottom side of the map such as a drake or a bot lane turret while his team cant really do anything left 4v5 and in some cases they would even run into your team and force a fight which will result in an possible team fight win and a potential baron or inhibitor kill for your team.
Freeze
How to:This one is probably my favourite as it really effective. To set a wave in a freeze i would first recommend having it near your turrent(out of its range tho). The wave is frozen when the enemy wave has 3 more caster minions then yours and all other minions are even OR when the enemy has 1 more cannon minion then yours.
Usage:As i mentioned earlier this is probably the most useful of all 3 ways to manipulate the wave simply because its great when you are winning the lane and it is also good when you are losing it . If you find find yourself on the winning side simply stay next to the wave and deny your opponent from last hitting . If they still come for a last hit dont hesitate to go for a trade or an all in if possible. If you are losing play it more defensively and just stay near your turret and try to get as many last hits as possible . Dont go for a last hit if you think you will get severely punished for it.
Quick Push
How to: By simply killing the bruiser minions which i dont find very effective so i would recommend pushing the whole wave once your enemy goes back to base.So yeah pretty simple just push the wave as fast as possible.
Usage: The whole purpose of this is to deny the enemy gold and experience and give you the upper hand. However dont do this while your enemy is still in lane as they will get all those minions and cs plus if they freeze the wave next to their turret you will be struggling to get cs and you will be open to getting ganked which basically leaves you screwed . So just dont do it.

Gameplay

Early Game
Jhin’s a different kind of marksman. While most look to whittle their opponents down with a constant barrage of sapping attacks, Jhin’s fastidious to the extreme, and thrives when he handpicks his opportunities to strike. So my playstyle in lane is usually pretty aggresive because that is the best way you can play Jhin in my opinion . You should constantly try to hit the 4th shot - the most deadliest on your opponent and poke with your Dancing Grenade everytime your opponent gets close to the minion(he will usually do that on last hits). You should elaborate on the fact that in the early game you outrange and outdamage pretty much adc and the Hail of Blades makes u even stronger. So yeah definately try to poke and zone the enemy as much as possible so you can get ahead . Always put you Captive Audience in the river bush as well as the lane bush for maximum protection against ganks(you are an immobile adc = easy target for ganks). Still, Jhin has relatively low attack speed which will often get pushed under tower, and having to fire off all your shots to last hit instead of harass. Which can definately be bad because when you have to use everything you have on the wave you are basically a free to poke target but it also means your opponent is over extending and is likely to get ganked. Jhin is a champ who can easily follow on ganks with his Deadly Flourish and pretty good movement speed so if you are getting pushed in badly definately try and call for your jungler. While your still in lane play opportunistic with your support.

Mid Game
Well mid game i would usually play it 2 different ways. 1.If u are ahead definately go and skirmish try to help your team secure objectives by securing kills. If I am fed after i have pushed the bot turret I would always go mid and try to catch the enemy mid laner with my Deadly Flourish and a Curtain Call which with the help of my support is prob about 99% a kill. After that just push mid and go for drake if it is available and there you have it your team is ahead. If u are fed you pretty strong mid game as well so look for skirmishesh and opportunities to constantly catch people off guard with your team. Put Captive Audience around objectives for more control. If you are behind try to farm up the bot lane(be super careful and if you are alone and they have a fed assasin u should definately stay with your team). Try to catch up to the enemy adc with farm and experience but dont get too carried away and with that i mean be there with your team when they need you - to defend mid or drake for example because even if you are weak you can still help your team and probably pick up a kill or two which is 5x more worth than farming bot.

Team Fighting

Team Fighting is a big part of league of legends and requires you and your team to work as a whole. And your role into that is to provide consitent damage while staying safe. So here is my personal advice to you . Follow the two most basic adc laws - attack the closest target and always stay behind your front line (and near your support). If are still a beginner focus on mastering these two thing before doing anything more advanced.
Jhin has two viable strategies in teamfights: either appear at the start of the battle, or at the end. If you choose to stick with your team, take up a traditional backline position, sett up traps to protect your fellow squishes while aiming Deadly Flourish at marked targets. If you can and you are not threatened by an assasin sure that is the best way to go . However in some cases you will not be able to go with your team because they would have a super fed assasin or bruiser who will one shot you the second he sees you. In those cases you should stay back , open the team fight with your Curtain Call and aim for the most fed squishy target - thats not very helpful but it is still much better than rushing in and dieing without being able to help your team at all.Hopefully your team has managed to take out the threat and you can now safely prove that you are a true adc god and win the team fight for them lol. Also rush Guardian Angel asap in situations like this - that is super essential , forget about damage and focus on defence. Another advice i can give to you is to put Captive Audince right below your feet so that when you get rushed the enemies get slowed drastically and you can follow with an auto and Deadly Flourish and hopefully kite away and kill them or just escape.

So now lets talk a little bit about something new that is super important prioritizing(aka choosing who to attack) in team fights.

In often cases you will be forced to make a choice as the enemy team will have at least two champs on the front line(closest to you) and choosing the correct target to attack in this situation is absolutely crucial.

1. First of all when choosing your priority target you should check out their score farm and most imporantly items. So now lets take an easy scenario for this example , lets say we have a Fiora who is 6/1/1 pretty fed and a Sejuani who is 0/1/4. So who do you focus ? With no hesitation the Fiora is your concern here. And just want to mention that the enemy team's ap and ad carries are the number 1 priority(still it is not your job to rush into them so don't unless you have cleared the front line).

2.So here is the second point to prioritizing and it may overlap what i said in the first in some cases. It is simple attacking the easier to kill/squshier target and we will take the same example lets say the Sejuani has only a 1000hp left and has used her dash to rush into your team which leaves her open as she has no other escape(aside from Flash)
and the Fiora is still full hp approximately 2500 and you know she can be a pain in the *** with her Riposte and Lunge so yeah in that situation you would want to kill the Sejuani as she is going to die a lot easier and it becomes a 5v4 situation for your team which means #winning.
