League of Legends (LoL) Question: Not used to being so Squishy while playing.

Not used to being so Squishy while playing.

Recently, when I was playing a ranked match, I had to play Mid. I normally play Top or Jungle. I used to play Mid a few months ago when I first started playing League, so I thought it'd be no problem. I was completely wrong. The enemy Annie hit me with a Q and W and I was half health. So I was wondering if there were any tips to help me while I am Laning. Im not used to being so Squishy while I play, and Im not used to being able to burst people. Pls help me. qq

Well aside from just getting used to the role over time, you could start actually calculating damage in your head as you play.

Your positioning is just a lot more important as a squishy with how you have to maximize damage output and minimize damage taken.

You could build the more defensive mid lane items to give yourself that additional health to help ease you into the whole "full damage" role, these include Rod of Ages, Rylai's Crystal Scepter & Liandry's Torment. On top of this you could also run a easy farm / high sustain champion until you get better used to avoid skill shots & trading with your opponent, for this I recommend Malzahar, Morgana, Brand & Fizz.

Once you get used to the squishy role you can make massive power plays for your team and with the right items you don't have to be that squishy, for example of a build of Rod of Ages, Sorcerer's Shoes, Zhonya's Hourglass, Abyssal Mask, Rabadon's Deathcap & Guardian Angel/ Rylai's Crystal Scepter can make you surprisingly tanky!

It's not necessarily an appropriate build path for all champions and there are also some champions which will excel on going offtanky items, like:

    Diana
    Swain
    Ryze
    Rumble
    Annie
    Morgana

^ This. You don't have to be glass to play a mage. I usually get Rod of Ages on mages, Athene's Unholy Grail isn't exactly a tank item, but it does give some MR, eventually Abyssal Mask and/or Zhonya's Hourglass, and generally a Liandry's Torment. One of the biggest things to keep in mind as a mid laner is that you don't need to be getting triple kills the second you hit level 6. Your goal is usually to farm and get huge, since you usually scale the best on your team.
